Nonlinear Robust Coordinated PSS-AVR Control for a Synchronous Generator Connected to an Infinite Bus

The transient stabilization and voltage regulation problem for a synchronous generator connected to an infinite bus is addressed, in this article, the presence of all uncertain physical parameters. First, new interpretations desensitized four loops regulator, here referred as robust coordinated power system stabilizer automatic regulator (PSS-AVR) are derived terms minimum phase properties with respect suitably chosen output linearized error system. Second, on basis such output, nonlinear generalization PSS-AVR designed aim enlarging stability region improving transients about unpredictable operating conditions determined by faults. Its linear action coincides one provided PSS-AVR: compelling simplicity control structure (just integrator involved) tuning procedure design definitely inherited, with, additionally, no use mechanical input power. A numerical analysis, along realistic simulations, confirms improved when proposed controller applied.
